CLIFTON, N.J. -- To provide contract packaging customers with more pouch packaging options, Compass Pharma Services LLC today announced it recently installed the new IM Poucher 7-14 from Klöckner-Bartelt, Inc.
The new in-line horizontal form fill seal machine expands Compass’ flexible packaging capabilities to include pouches with fin seals, tandem seals and bottom-gusset or side-gusset seals. The machine can also create stand-up pouches with Delta-Pac style seams, and pouches with membrane-, frangible- and zipper-seal closures.
“Beyond the flexibility in pouch formats and laminates, we can now accurately fill as little as 500 mg. of powder – or one cc of liquid – with an accuracy of up to +/- 3%, ” said Tony Fenno, Compass’ Chief Operating Officer. “This capability will greatly expand Compass’ micro-fill packaging opportunities.”
